How to Master Claude Co-Work for Sales
So you can spend more time doing what you do best...
Hey
Two weeks ago I spoke at a Fintech conference.
I demoed how someone could use Claude Co-Work to find lookalike customers.
The DMs after it were non-stop.
"How do I actually set this up?" "Does it really work or is it just another AI gimmick?" "Can it actually help me sell more?"
So I thought I should break this down properly.
And share it with you.
Because I think most people are massively underestimating what's possible right now with AI.
Let’s dive in…
Launching SOLLO soon…
I have been deep into working on a new business: Sollo - a lead generation CRM for solopreneurs, that helps you improve your offer, find leads and turn strangers into paying customers. I’m building this in public, so if you’re interested in seeing this in action sign up for the waitlist below.
Join the waitlist here:
If you sign up for the waitlist before next week you’ll also be eligible for a 40% discount when we launch! How cool.
(PS - Tomorrow we launch the private Beta. Which we are very excited about!)
Most people hear "AI tool" and think ChatGPT. Type a question. Get an answer. Copy-paste it somewhere. Repeat.
Co-Work is nothing like that.
It's an autonomous digital coworker that lives on your desktop. You describe what you want done and it goes and does it. Researches prospects. Creates documents. Builds presentations. Writes outreach sequences. Organises your files.
All while you're on a call or grabbing coffee.
Think of it less like a chatbot and more like hiring a junior analyst who works at machine speed and never sleeps.
Let me show you how to get started today. Right now. In about 5 minutes.
How to set Claude Co-Work up.
Step 1: Download the Claude Desktop app from claude.ai/download. Install it like any normal app. You need a paid Claude plan - Pro is $20/month.
Step 2: Open the app and switch to Co-Work mode. You'll see Chat and Cowork tabs at the top. Click Cowork.
Step 3: Click "Work in a Folder" at the bottom and choose a dedicated folder on your computer. Something like "Claude-Sales-Work" on your desktop. Don't give it your entire home directory. Start contained.
Step 4: Give it your first task.
That's it. You're live.
Your first task (try this right now).
Paste this into Co-Work:
"Research the company [insert any prospect here]. Find their leadership team, recent news, funding history, and key product features. Create a one-page summary document I can use before a sales call."
Claude will research the company, compile the intel, and create a formatted document in your folder. All autonomously.
That task normally takes 30-45 minutes of manual research. Co-Work does it in about 2 minutes.
And that's just the warm-up.
Now let’s unleash it’s true power…
Once you've got the basics down, Co-Work can handle almost every stage of your sales process:
Find prospects. Connect it to Clay and it'll build targeted prospect lists, find decision-makers, pull verified emails and LinkedIn URLs, and score every lead on ICP fit. 30 enriched, scored prospects in 10 minutes. That used to take me 2 full days.
Research before outreach. For every prospect, it'll create a pre-call research brief — their company, their role, recent activity, trigger events, pain indicators, and conversation starters. 3-5 minutes per prospect instead of 30-45.
What’s even better is you can schedule this task to run every morning so it delivers these results to you without you lifting a finger.
Write personalised outreach. Give it the research brief and it'll draft multi-touch outreach sequences - first email, follow-up, final attempt - each referencing something specific about that prospect. 10 personalised sequences in 10 minutes. Same quality used to take 3-4 hours.
(the trick here is to give Claude examples of what a good email looks like - do NOT rely on Claude to know this by itself)
Create proposals and pitch decks. After your calls, feed it your notes. It'll generate a personalised proposal and presentation customised to that prospect's situation, pain points, and language. 30 minutes from notes to finished proposal.
That was a 4-6 hour job.
Coach you on your deals. Ask it to review your pipeline. It'll score your deals, flag the risks, and tell you the three actions you should take this week. Like having a sales manager in your pocket.
The key rules:
A few things to know before you dive in:
The quality of your output is directly tied to the quality of your input. A vague prompt gets a vague result. A specific prompt gets something you can actually use. Treat it like briefing a new hire - the more context you give, the less you need to fix.
Keep the app open while tasks run. If your computer sleeps, the task stops.
Start small. Give it one contained task. Get comfortable. Then chain bigger workflows together.
It asks before doing anything risky - deleting files, making purchases, anything irreversible. You stay in control.
And memory doesn't carry over between sessions. Each task starts fresh. So save your best prompts somewhere you can reuse them.
How to go from good to unfair:
The real power comes from two features: Skills and MCPs.
Skills are custom instructions you can teach Claude. Want it to always research prospects a certain way? Write a skill for it. Want it to create proposals in your format with your language? Build a skill. Once it's set, every output follows your playbook automatically.
MCPs (Model Context Protocol) connect Co-Work to your existing tools - Slack, Notion, Google Drive, HubSpot, Clay, Trigify. Instead of switching between 12 tabs, Co-Work pulls data from your tools, processes it, and saves the results. One workflow. One place.
Together, skills and MCPs turn Co-Work from a general assistant into a sales machine that knows your process, your tools, and your standards.
I'm not saying AI replaces your sales skills. Selling is still a human skill. The relationship, the trust, the ability to read a room and adapt - that's all you.
But everything around the sell? The research, the prep, the materials, the analysis, the follow-ups?
That's where Co-Work can help you dominate.
The people who figure this out first will have an unfair advantage. Same number of hours in the day. 3x the output. Better prepared for every conversation. More personalised in every touchpoint.
I've put together a full free guide that walks you through the entire system - from setting up your first project to running the complete stranger-to-customer workflow. 13 chapters. Step by step.
And if you want video walkthroughs, done-for-you templates, skills, prompt libraries, and live coaching to build this entire system with support - that's what Sollo will help you with.
A CRM built for solopreneurs and small teams. AI-managed pipeline. Built-in sales coaching. Network analysis so you know who in your existing network could be a lead. Multi-channel communication so you're in the channels your prospects already use.
You built the business. Sollo helps you close the deals.

Power to you,
Mike

Wait, you’re a human?!
